David L. Harsany, M.D.

Dr. Harsany provides care for general otolaryngology patients, with a special focus on the diagnosis and treatment of people with disorders of smell and taste.

Dr. Harsany, Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, comes to Tower ENT with a special interest in helping people with smell and taste disorders.

Dr. Harsany was accepted into the Honors Program in Medical Eduction at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he earned his undergraduate and medical degrees—with Alpha Omega Alpha honors— in only six years.  He then completed a year of general surgery internship at Stanford University in Palo Alto California, followed by a residency in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery also at Stanford.

He practiced general otolaryngology at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation for twenty years, and then, interested in global health and health technology, founded the internet company ProcuraMed, to help patients find qualified doctors in Brazil. As part of ProcuraMed, Dr. Harsany wrote a popular health care blog exploring the latest topics in wellness from all areas of medicine.

Smell has been called the Rodney Dangerfield of the senses “doesn’t get no respect!” yet the COVID epidemic has shown how important this sense is to our health and enjoyment of life. Dr. Harsany’s goal at the Tower Smell and Taste Clinic is to help patients recover this vital part of their life, whether the problem is due to COVID or any other cause.
